Do NOT Diet - Change Your Lifestyle!
Living a Plant Based Lifestyle
It is now 2013 and like everyone you want to make CHANGES. Well if you do any research or have any history with diets and dieting, you know they do NOT work! Never have and never will! They are an unnatural and forced way to restrict your body's natural needs.
We all want to be healthy and live long and productive lives free from disease and other ailments that often accompany growing older. There just is no need to feel poorly, get a cold every year and suffer disease (diabetes 2, heart disease, cancer, etc.). Diet is surly NOT the way to go, but LIFESTYLE IS.
We describe many of the steps we took when we began our Lifestyle Changes in our Healthy Living section. Suffice it to say, it does take work! Sometimes a LOT of work, but it is all so well worth the effort. Humans are creatures of habit and to change/alter a habit, it takes WORK and reconditioning. From your daily schedule to your eating habits, it all impacts your health and how your body deals with life, stress and disease. The key is a healthy body, immune system and healing system! In order to keep your body running smoothly and efficiently, you MUST provide the proper fuels and additives. Just like any fine tuned sports car, you don't put in cheap gas, recycled oil, or skimp on the quality of brake and transmission fluids; that can be deadly. Well, your body is much like a finely tuned sports car and needs proper maintenance and attention!
It is NOT painful at all and, after the initial 'adjustment period' of about 30 days, it is exhilarating. You will feel ALIVE and 'tuned up' just like your sports car after an oil change, new spark plugs and a general tune up! VROOOM!!!!! Off you will go!
If you do your research, you will find that a Mediterranean Diet is considered one of the more healthy and robust approaches. The Mediterranean Diet incorporates the basics of healthy eating — plus a splash of flavorful olive oil and perhaps a glass of red wine — among other components characterizing the traditional cooking style of countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. This healthy diet includes fruits, vegetables, fish, whole grains, and limited healthy fats. A Mediterranean diet may be considered a 'gateway' approach to a more Holistic eating lifestyle that will help you mover toward ever more healthy Whole Food consumption.
While we accept that the Mediterranean diet is healthy, we continue to promote a completely Plant Based Nutritional approach. This eliminates totally the 'bad fats' and other harmful foods and food additives found in meat, fish, poultry and all dairy products.
We will now address a more Holistic lifestyle represented by consumption of organically grown Whole Food!
We focus on three primary nutritional approaches. While many books and articles are written about them, they are all founded on Plant Based Nutrition! Click on each of these below nutritional approaches to select the one, or more likely the combination of nutritional approaches that you think right for YOU!
