Omega-3


To improve your diet, you need to lower your omega-6 and raise your omega-3. You can do this by changing what you eat. Foods that contain high amounts of omega-6 are soybean oil, cottonseed oil, and corn oil. These oils are key ingredients in margarine, mayonnaise, salad dressings, snack foods, processed foods and fast foods.

Sodium Ascorbate - Vitamin C

Why sodium ascorbate instead of regular vitamin C tablets?  Simple, the vitamin C tablets are highly acidic.  The sodium ascorbate which IS vitamin C enters the body in an alkaline form.  This helps maintain the acid balance toward the more favorable alkaline levels necessary to combat cancer and other disease!

 

Sodium ascorbate is a more bioavailable form of vitamin C that is an alternative to taking ascorbic acid as a supplement. The molecular formula of this chemical compound is C6H7NaO6. As the sodium salt of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), it is known as a mineral ascorbate.

 

  • Sodium ascorbate can reverse the development of atherosclerotic disease, helps in heart attack prevention.[2]In addition sodium ascorbate plays a significant role in the elimination of chronic and acute infections.[3] Moreover, it is considered to be an anti-cancer agent. Several times a week we take two heaping teaspoons in some juice (orange or grape) or just plain water.  This is about 10,000mg of Vitamin C. Now this high a dose may cause you to have a form of diarrhea, but it will really clean you out! It actually makes you feel so clean inside it is wonderful; but may not be for everyone.  Note: very high dosages of vitamin C may interfere with other supplements or medications.  It may be best to separate these high doses by at least six hours from other supplements or medications for optimum results.

Chlorella and Spirulina

Ok, you may not have heard of these before. I know I hadn't!  Basically these are considered 'Super Foods' and I first heard of them watching the video on the Gerson Miracle (more on videos and such in the Education & Reference section).


Chlorella is a tiny, single-celled water-grown alga containing a nucleus and an enormous amount of readily available chlorophyll. It also contains protein (approximately 58 percent), carbohydrates, all of the B vitamins, vitamins C and E, amino acids, and rare trace minerals. In fact, it is virtually a complete food. It contains more vitamin B12 than liver does, plus a considerable amount of beta-carotene.

General Multi-Vitamin

We are now using a general multi-vitamin drink called Marvalous 24/7. This product comes in handy individual sachets (connivent for travel) and contains 100% of the recommended daily nutritional values of Zinc, Manganese, Chromium and 150% of the selenium, 80% of the daily iodine.  With reduced salt and consumption of organic foods on a Vegan diet, this supplemental drink insures that we get sufficient iodine and other nutrients in a balanced manner.




Vitamin D

We take 10,000 IU of Vitamin D with our evening meal along with Clary Sage Omega-3 capsules.  (We do cut this back to 5,000 IU when we are in the sun for a length of time.)

 

Theories linking vitamin D to certain cancers have been tested and confirmed in more than 200 epidemiological studies, and understanding of its physiological basis stems from more than 2,500 laboratory studies, according to epidemiologist Cedric Garland, DrPH, professor of family and preventive medicine at the UC San Diego School of Medicine.  Dr. Garland is widely regarded as the leading epidemiologist on vitamin D and its relation to health. He led one of the latest studies on vitamin D for cancer prevention and proposed a new model of cancer development -- dubbed DINOMIT-- that is centered on a loss of cancer cells' ability to stick together.  The model is a departure from the older model of cancer development, which centers on genetic mutations as the earliest driving forces behind cancer.


Calcitrol -- the activated form of vitamin D -- has been shown to protect against cancer by inducing cell differentiation and controlling cell proliferation. People with a low vitamin D level are less able to make activated vitamin D in an amount sufficient to exert the controls over cell proliferation that are needed to reduce cancer.


Optimized vitamin D levels will work synergistically with virtually every other cancer treatment. There are over 830 peer-reviewed scientific studies showing its effectiveness in the treatment of cancer!

You'll want to elevate your levels of vitamin D to about 80-90 ng/ml, and continue to have them monitored throughout your treatment.  Calcitrol, the most potent steroid hormone in your body, is produced in large amounts in your tissues when you have sufficient amounts of vitamin D.
